Herbert had a dream

the world was closing in

His wife was leaving him

for his younger brother Tim


He tossed and he turned

'til the tears started to churn

and rivers quickly formed

while the room began to flood


Leaking like a sieve

the walls began to give

the neighbors clung to trees

while Herbert's tears rolled through the streets


The mayor tried to think

"We must wake Herbert from his sleep

Tell his wife we need her now!"


And Doris swam quickly through town

pleading

"Sweet Herbert dear, we're drowning

please stop crying I'm right here

you're covering the world up with your tears

Hurry Herbert wake

before we're washed away"


The town began to sink

but Herbert never blinked

The army called for help

but the waters rose to quick

The Mayor grabbed his gun

"Something drastic must be done

We'll shoot him in his sleep!"

and Dorris dropped down to her knees

pleading

"Sweet Herbert dear, we're drowning

please stop crying I'm right here
